During Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Dr. Peters served in combat as a U.S. Navy corpsman with the 1st Marine Division & Fleet Hospital-5. He obtained a Biology, B.S. degree Magna Cum Laude from Old Dominion University while on active dury at Portsmouth Naval Hospital. After completing his military service, he attended medical school at SUNY Downstate - Brooklyn, N.Y. graduating with honors.

After board certifying in both specialties, Dr. Peters practiced in Chicago and Minneapolis, and has served Horry and surrounding counties since 2006. He is licensed in North & South Carolina.

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife & kids, rescuing injured dogs with his wife, working on his race car & endurance road racing, music & singing, cooking/food & wine, and travelling when he can.
